Saputo Dairy Australia (SDA) is pleased to announce a contribution of $10,000 to fund the installation of new, motorised retractable awnings to clubrooms at the Kiewa Cricket Club, providing a safer and more comfortable experience for the community.
Funding has been provided through Saputo’s Legacy Program, which aims to improve local sport and health facilities to build a lasting legacy for communities in its operating regions. The awnings will provide shade and shelter with the flexibility to retract, allowing the Club’s grassed area to receive adequate sunlight and rainfall.
Kiewa Cricket Club Chairman, Annie Heffernan, said she was thankful to SDA for their generous support of its shade awnings project.
“The shade provided by these awnings will provide a more comfortable and enjoyable experience at our Club,” she said.
“Sun protection is vital, and safety for players and spectators is our priority. It is with great pride that we can now offer our community an improved facility. Without the support of Saputo, this project may not have been possible.”
Through its Saputo Promise commitment, the Company strives to invest 1% of its pre-tax profits in community programs and organisations that promote a healthy lifestyle for people of all ages.
SDA’s Kiewa Site Manager and Head of Operations, Simon Cauchi, said he was proud to be supporting the local community, with Kiewa Cricket Club’s awning installation marking the 11th Legacy project delivered in Australia.
“The Kiewa Cricket Club is just one kilometre from our Kiewa processing facility, and we are pleased to support the ongoing safety, comfort and social needs of the Club’s members, players and spectators,” he said.
“Delivering this project aligns with our ongoing promise to make meaningful contributions to local communities in the regions where our employees and farmers live and work.”
